Us
The Distributed Multimedia Information Systems Laboratory (DMIS) has a mission to conduct leading edge research with
the focus on new forms of multimedia data (such as text, numbers, tags, networking, signals, geo-tagged information,
graphs/relationships, 3D/VR/AR and sensor data, etc.) for many applications in addition to traditional multimedia data
(image, video, audio). This laboratory receives funding from NSF, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Department of Homeland Security, Army Research Office, Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Florida Office of Insurance Regulation,
Florida Department of Transportation, IBM, and Farelogix. The students graduated from DMIS have found jobs in academia and leading industries.
